Notes:

  • We are primarily offering B level rides (15-17 mph) at this time.   A and C riders are welcome to join rides at their own pace and join the post ride social event.
  • You must be a member to register for a ride.  It is recommended that you login to register but it is not required.

    The West Side Hills Ride...   Ride with GPS Map

    NOTE - In case of extreme heat, rides may be shortened for safety.

    Ride Description: The west side hills ride will take the bike path south and head out to Sunset Rd.   We will take Sunset to the top, then go over and ride Camino del Cerro to the top.  Lots of rolling hills, with regroups at the top of each road to enjoy the nice views.   There is the option of doing some of the hills and turning around as the front group comes down.

    The Dove Mountain Ride...   Ride with GPS map

    Note:  Rides may be shortened due to safety during extreme heat.

    In the event of exteme heat, summer rides may be shortened.

    Ride to and through the scenic roads in Dove Mountain.

    The ride will head out south along La Canada, then Magee to Cortaro to Silverbell, then Coachline, Twin Peaks (across the I-10 overpass and Tangerine Rd).  Next it's up and over the hill on Dove Mt. with a stop for water and restrooms at the park at the very end of Dove Mt. road.   Return up and over Dove Mtn, then west along Moore Road and south on La Canada Rd back to the start.

    A riders are welcome to ride out ahead of the B group.

    In honor of the Hohokam Indians who lived in Sabino Canyon between 300and 1400 AD, this ride takes in the 8 mile out and back climb to the end of Sabino Canyon.  Socialize after at Bashas' Starbucks.

    The Catalina Foothills Ride...   Ride with GPS map

    NOTE:  In case of extreme heat, rides may be shortened for safety.

    We will head out Tangerine to Catalina State Park, then wander through Oro Valley Country Club, and then make our way to the Magee climb.   Stop and re-group at the top and then down Christie to Ina, then head E to Miraval.  Downhill Miraval to Via Entrada.  Water and restrooms at the Loop bikepath by the Rillito racetrack, then return via bikepath and La Cholla, then right on Naranja back to the start.

    The Saddlebrooke "alternate" Ride...   Ride with GPS map

    In the event of extreme heat, we may be shortening the ride slightly for safety.

    This ride will go out to Saddlebrooke via our alternate route.  We'll take Naranja west to La Cholla, then go into Rancho Vistoso and Sun City via Moore/La Canada/Hidden Springs Roads back to Oracle Rd.  We'll proceed N to the usual stop in Catalina for water/restrooms (~15 miles in).  Then we'll skip the usual long hill into Saddlebrooke by taking Eaglecrest Rd to Edwin Rd instead. 

    Once in Saddlebrooke, we ride on smooth roads and then take an alternate route back - Lago del Oro Parkway to the hill at Schroeder Rd (it's past the Golder Ranch Rd intersection), continuing onto Gwynn's Run to Wilds Rd.  Then west to the light at Oracle Rd.  From there, it's back to Brueggers the usual way via Oracle, Vistoso Commerce, Innovation, and Tangerine to La Canada.  Socialize after at Brueggers.

    This ride targets the 49er Country Club, the only club where Jack Nicklaus played competitively in Tucson (in 1963 and 1964) and also includes the McCartney Ranch, Reddington Pass, and a rest stop at the desert oasis in Aqua Caliente Park.  Socialize afterwards at Starbucks.

    The Marana Ride...  Ride with GPS map


    NOTE:  Ride may be shortened in extreme heat for safety.

    For this ride, we will head out Tangerine to Twin Peaks Rd., making a right turn to stay on it over the small hump.  Then through the neighborhoods to Avra Valley Road.   Take Sanders Rd north to the bikepath, and make a bathroom, water and snack stop at Gladden Park in Marana.   Then continue on the bikepath to Cortaro Rd, and use Cortaro, Thornydale, Cactus Canyon, Shannon and Naranja to get back to our start.
